It's been one month of marriage already! Things have been fantastic. Bart and I just got the wedding video back from J&M video and they did a great job and covered almost THREE hours of wedding footage if not more.
We have a few wedding snapshots from our photographer which you can see HERE
Our honeymoon was to a wonderful little bed and breakfast in Irvington VA called the Hope and Glory Inn. We rode bikes everywhere, went to the pool and met a fabulous couple at the a nearby resort who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We, ironically, were just at about 50 magical hours of marriage when we met them. We decided to celebrate together later that evening with champagne, cigars and dinner. I will never forget the pinup girl hawaiian pants that Mr. Stack wore that night. They were scandalous and brilliant.
After an a.m.a.z.i.n.g honeymoon, we returned to home to a very stifling hot house. We noticed that our air conditioner was tampered with...the next morning we woke up to find it totally GONE. Our air compressor was ripped right out of the ground it was bolted into via a 10 foot pole. a 5 o'clock news story and a $1000 deductible later, we have an air conditioner it just has not been put in yet. you can read about the story HERE
So, we survived our first major crisis/theft as a married couple!
Our next adventure is taking a trip after the new year to st. lucia or mexico with some friends.
can-not-wait!

the anti bride
Friends of mine gave me this wedding planner to keep me on track with all this planning. My favorite thing about this book is that it is abuse proof. No matter what bag I shove it into, or what beverage I spill on it...it remains unscathed.
I also like it because it encourages us to be creative and not be afraid to infuse our own sense of style into the mix.
thanks for reading...stace.
(ps - Bart is really busy playing some intense Halo right now, but hopefully he will post something real soon ;)

sixburgh!!
superbowl sunday included church at 3pm, then a birthday party for max (my bff's little one) and then an amazing superbowl party at the house of our friends' Brad and Michelle. Bart was definitely wearing the right jersey for the evening. We had a great time enjoying the 'safe' lead until the fourth quarter which is when the whole party experienced some crazy tense moments.
Despite what all the bitter bloggers are saying in the aftermath of super bowl forty three, it couldn't have been a more impressive and exciting game. It's fun to be a city dweller when the Steelers win the super bowl...falling asleep to the sound of fireworks, car horns, and people yelling in the streets was a-ok last night.

so, save this date.
we are really excited to announce our engagement!
Saturday, Aug 15th 2009!
for those that may not know our little story...
Bart and i have known each other just about all of our lives. Yet, we had only been dating for about five months when got engaged. We started dating after hanging out a lot together at the beach, where each of us went with our families this past summer on vacation. Five months later he is telling me he bought something really cool for me at a turnpike gift shop after listening to my complaints of a really crummy day i had been having. When i got home i saw a silver gift bag sitting on the table. Bart couldn't contain his excitement about this gift he bought me which of course i thought was some type of kitchen magnet or a keychain that said "donegal" on it or something.
of course i was wrong.
he took a knee after i saw there was nothing in the bag and then he lovingly proposed.
tears. dropped jaw. crying. laughing. fast heartbeat. all of these things ensued following his proposal. one thing that bart has in common with my family is his excellence in surprising me. i accepted and i don't think i felt my feet hit the floor for the rest of the night. the whole thing left me feeling weightless. which is a pretty amazing feeling.
bart and i continue to learn more about each other every day and we are surrounded with great friends and family that are helping us with the process of planning our celebration and ceremony.
so, save this date and know that aug 15th is a saturday and not a friday!! - we fixed our postcard since this was posted!
